What is Messy Church
The video to the right is provided by Lucy Moore the founder of Messy Church, it gives an overview of the concept and operation of Messy Church. Although Messy Church was started by the Church of England, it is now run in over 3800 Christian churches across the world, including over 200 in Australia.
So why come to Messy Church?
Messy Church is about families, fun, faith and food. It’s a once a month time when families can enjoy quality time with each other.
It’s an opportunity to develop those values and ethics you want for your family. Messy Church is a family outreach ministry with a difference. Yes, it's church, but unless you've been to one it's nothing like church as you probably know it. This is about as far from traditional Anglican worship as you can get.
Messy Church runs for 2 hours once a month in our hall, situated behind the church, we start with some welcome activities - tea or coffee for the adults and a cool drink for the kids. Then there are a number of craft activities for all the family, after this, we head to the church building for a short worship service and finish back in the hall with a freshly prepared mostly healthy shared meal. There are collection boxes on the table for those wishing to give a donation to cover the meal cost.
